It includes both the PRINCE2 Foundation and PRINCE2 Practitioner exams and then takes you beyond the method by giving you additional tools and techniques to become a confident project leader. Target Audience:

PRINCE2 is aimed at project managers and aspiring project managers. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects, including: Project Board members (e.g. Senior Responsible Owners), Team Managers (e.g. Product Delivery Managers), Project Assurance (e.g. Business Change Analysts), Project Support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel) and operational line managers/staff.

Prerequisites:

  • No pre-requisites are necessary for this course, however, you would benefit from having some basic project management experience prior to attending. You will need to pass the Foundation examination (on day 2) prior to taking the Practitioner examination on day 5.

  • Photo Identification for Examinations - You must bring photographic identification on exam days (passport, driving license or student card) as it is an examination requirement to produce it for the invigilator prior to the exam. Failure to produce a valid form of photographic identification may result in a candidate not being able to sit the exams. For any questions about what form of identification is acceptable, please contact your Account Manager

  • You will be provided with pre-course reading prior to attending the course. This pre-reading is interactive eLearning and is expected to take approximately two hours to complete - this is only a guide and you may wish to spend longer on this activity to help you prepare effectively. Your learning starts with this pre-reading, so please ensure you can complete the pre-course activities in full prior to attending.

  • If you have not received your pre-reading material within one week of the start of your course, please contact your Account Manager

  • At Foundation level, demonstrate that they understand and can recall the various components of the PRINCE2 method

  • At Practitioner level, demonstrate that they can apply and tailor the PRINCE2 method to a real project

  • Explain and apply the PRINCE2 principles

  • Explain the purpose of the seven PRINCE2 themes and describe how they are applied to a project

  • Describe each step of the PRINCE2 journey, explaining the activities required to guide a project throughout its lifecycle

  • Create the recommended PRINCE2 management products which include baselines, records and reports

Agenda

Days one and two of the course focus on the components of the method with days three to five addressing how the method might be applied and tailored on a real-life project. Delegates should note that evening work will be assigned which is not expected to exceed three hours per night.

The seven PRINCE2 themes are aspects of the project that must be continually addressed and integrated as the project journeys through its life cycle.

The seven PRINCE2 processes encompass the chronological activities that are required to direct, manage and deliver the project successfully. The activities include pre-project, initiation and delivery, and end with project closure.
